The Adventures of Elliot Prologue Demo: Full Guide

The Adventures of Elliot Prologue Demo is the free, save-carrying first taste of The Millennium Tales. Here is exactly what it contains, how to download it on every platform, how your progress transfers into the full game, and how to get the most out of the opening chapter.

What is the Prologue Demo?

Confirmed

A free download that plays the opening chapter for real — and remembers everything you do.

The Adventures of Elliot Prologue Demo is a free trial of The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, released on May 19, 2026 ahead of the full game's June 18, 2026 launch. It covers the entire opening chapter of the adventure, letting you play as Elliot and his fairy partner Faie through a real slice of the story rather than a sealed-off teaser stage.

The headline feature is carryover: unlike the earlier 2025 demo, your save data transfers directly into the full game. Anything you accomplish in the demo — progress, the gear you collect, the magicite you form — picks up exactly where you left off once you own the retail version. That makes the Prologue Demo less of a sample and more of a genuine head start.

What's included in the demo

Confirmed

More than a tutorial: a complete dungeon, a real boss fight, and access to the game's core systems.

The Prologue Demo is generous. Rather than locking you to a single corridor, it opens up the opening chapter's exploration loop — a full dungeon, fast travel, minigames and a boss — so you can actually feel how combat, puzzles and customization fit together.

  • The Doorway Ruins dungeon — the opening chapter's signature ruin, packed with platforming, puzzles, combat and treasure.
  • The Tag Guardians boss — a two-part guardian battle against a Greatsword Guardian and a Great Bow Guardian fought as a pair.
  • A Shrine of the Mystic where Faie learns the Warp spell, used to solve puzzles and dodge attacks.
  • All seven weapon types — sword & shield, hammer, lance/spear, bow, hook-and-chain, bombs and boomerang.
  • A new sword to obtain — a stronger variant tucked away for you to find.
  • Fast travel between unlocked points, so backtracking stays painless.
  • Minigames — including Faie's Magic Lessons, unlocked alongside new fairy magic.

How to download the demo

Confirmed

The Prologue Demo is on every storefront. Pick yours and search by name.

  1. Nintendo Switch 2 (eShop)

Open the Nintendo eShop, search for The Adventures of Elliot, open the store page and choose the free Prologue Demo download. It installs like a full title and appears on your Home menu.

  2. PlayStation 5 (PS Store)

From the PS5 dashboard, open the PlayStation Store, search The Adventures of Elliot, and select the demo from the game's page. Confirm the free download to add it to your library.

  3. Xbox Series X|S (Microsoft Store)

Open the Microsoft Store on your console, search The Adventures of Elliot, open the listing and download the free demo. It installs alongside your other games.

  4. PC (Steam)

On Steam, search The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, open the store page and click the Download Demo button. The demo installs as its own entry in your library.

How save carryover works

Confirmed

Your demo run is a real save file — and it does double duty as a launch-day bonus key.

When you start the full game on the same platform, it reads your Prologue Demo save and continues your adventure from that point. There is no replaying the opening chapter unless you want to — your collected weapons, formed magicite and story progress all come with you. This is the single biggest reason to play the demo before launch.

Carryover also unlocks pre-order and save-detection rewards. When the retail version detects matching demo save data on the same platform, it can grant bonus items — for example Brave magicite, which adds roughly +10% sword damage and improved critical hits. These bonuses are applied in the full game, not the demo itself, so don't expect them to appear during your trial run.

Beginner tips for the demo

Likely

A few habits that pay off immediately — and carry straight into the full game.

  • Try all seven weapons. The demo hands you every type — sword & shield, hammer, lance, bow, hook-and-chain, bombs and boomerang. You equip two at once and switch freely, so experiment to learn which pairings cover your weaknesses.
  • Form magicite early and often. Fragments drop from enemies and chests; take them to the town shop and 'form' them into finished magicite. Forming is gacha-like, and doing it more raises your odds of rarer, cheaper-to-equip pieces — so form whenever you have fragments to spare.
  • Use Faie in puzzles, not just fights. Ignite lights torches, melts ice and detonates explosives, while Vacuum pulls in enemies, loot and objects — and can drag foes off ledges. Many obstacles are Faie puzzles in disguise.
  • Hunt for Shrines of Life. Their trials reward a shard of life; collect four and Elliot's maximum vitality rises by one. Building up your health bank during the demo means a sturdier hero in the full game.
  • Lean on Warp. The Shrine of the Mystic teaches Faie's Warp, which teleports Elliot to her position — handy for crossing gaps in puzzles and for slipping out of a boss's attack at the last second.

How the demo differs from the full game

Confirmed

It's a real slice, but a slice — and it has already been refined since the 2025 demo.

The Prologue Demo is bounded to the opening chapter, so some areas are walled off and the wider four-era journey through the Doorway of Time waits for the full release. Within those limits, though, it is the most polished version of the game shown so far. Team Asano folded in player feedback from the 2025 Debut Demo, sharpening movement, controls and difficulty before this build went out.

Confirmed changes between the two free demos.

Practically, that means the demo you can download today moves quicker, lets you swap weapons faster, and offers a difficulty band the original build didn't — alongside a retuned magicite system. Anything you don't reach behind the demo's restricted areas simply opens up when the full game arrives and your save continues.
